Research Technican
Location: Berlin, BioCube, Robert-Rössle-Straße 10/haus d95, 13125 Berlin.
For our research laboratory in Berlin we are seeking a team-oriented and highly motivated full-time Research Technician (m/f/d). Depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience, the position can also be arranged as that of a Senior Research Technician.
Main Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of this post is to provide technical support for ongoing research projects under the direction and supervision of the Lab Chief (Dr. Jennifer Gherardini) or her deputy. Tasks include:
- Hair follicle and skin organ culture
- Fixation and embedding of tissue
- Cryo- and paraffin sections
- Performing various immunohistochemical stains and molecular biology techniques
- Use of immunofluorescence and light microscopy
- Taking images and performing image analysis, using various programs (e.g. BZ-Analyzer, BZ viewer, and Image)
- Quantitative (immuno-)histomorphometry
- General organization of the lab including forward planning regarding equipment and materials required, orders, overseeing and maintaining a stock of media, antibodies, chemicals, and other consumables
- Lab safety & professional record keeping
Participating in scientific lab meetings and organization of workshops
Job Requirements:
Completed training as a Medical/Biological-technical assistant or an honors Bachelor's degree in a relevant life science subject
Good knowledge of immunohistochemistry and routine histology
Experience in biological research laboratories and with laboratory techniques
Good knowledge of oral and written English (Company language: English) and German
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good organizational, time management, data collection, and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines
Good computer skills, incl. experience with Microsoft Office and Image J/Fiji
Flexibility, willingness to travel

Salary commensurate with qualifications & professional experience.
The Position is available from April 2025 | initial full-time employment for 2 years with 6 months trial period | part-time contract negotiable.
Candidates with documented know-how and experience in skin and/or hair research will be preferred.
